We run both Open and Bespoke courses, provide regulated qualifications where appropriate and work with our clients to provide the best learning for their needs.

Our training can be delivered from our base in Dartmoor, Devon, UK where we have access to both indoor and outdoor venues that provide some of the best training environments (Hills, Forests & Mountains, Crags & Rivers, Coastline & Quarries), ideal for our style of training, or we can arrange our training anywhere in the UK or Globally at a suitable venue.

COURSES-

+ HEAT- Hostile Environment Awareness Training (4-5 Days)

Aimed at NGO, TV & Film, Journalists or Explorations sectors, providing immersive training and knowledge building around working and operating in potentially Hostile locations.

Content Includes- Working with partners, Secuirty and Situational Awareness, Travel Planning &Navigation, Risk & Threat Analysis, Using Vehicles, Conflict Management, Psychological Safety, Awareness of Weaopns, First Aid. 

+ RGS- IBG Off-SIte Safety Management (2 Days)

Certificated course by the Royal Geographical Society covering the basics of preparing and delivering safe off site activities, suitable for expedition leaders and companies, event organisors, schools and Universities engaged in field work and expeditions. 

Content Includes- Planning, Risk Assessment, leading safely, legalities, managing incidents, working with third party providers.

+ Aquatic Safety Qualification- Aquatic Safety Managment Levels 1-3 (1-2 days)

Working as part of the Atlantic Crest Faculty we can deliver this exciting and comprehensive modular programme in Water Safety.

Aimed at any one who is working around water enviroments or who may encounter water in their operations, this programme increases awareness and risk assessment, develops safety protocols, practical methods to manage operations safely around water and how to rescue people who may enter the water.

+ Leadership In Remote/ Hostile Environments (1-multiple days)

A suite of programmes ranging from 1 day introductory modules to 5 day or longer where participanst explore the concepts and practice of leading in Remote or Hostile environments.

Content includes- leadership theory, Self reflection, coaching development, leadership application, working with teams, communication, decision making.

+ Travel Safety Awareness Courses (1 day)

1 day travel awareness courses for individuals and companies who deploy staff overseas.

Content Includes- Planning for travel, risk and situational awareness, decision making, understanding ISO 31030, communication and management.

+ Environmental & Specialist Skills Awareness Courses (1- multiple day)

Short focussed courses involving specific training in the skills required to operate in specific environments.

+ Health & Safety for Production (1-2 days)

Specialist training for TV, Film and Theatre production focussing on the requirements of productions and freelancers related to safety management. Includes Level 2 qualification in Health & Safety in the Workplace.

Content Includes- Risk Assessment, safety management planning and delivery, legal considerations, controling risks, stunt and specialist safety considerations.

 FIRST AID & MEDICAL TRAINING

We provide high quality professional training in first aid for outdoor practitioners, expedition leaders, companies, schools, NGOs, this includes recognised qualifications and specialist training courses in trauma managment, environmentally specific subjects (altitude, diving, jungle, snakebite) and crisis managment training.

Our courses are recognised by the Health & Safety Executive, National Governing Bodies for Sport (MLTUK, British Canoeing, RYA, PADI) and are in line with the Institute for Outdoor Learning Statement of Good Practice for Outdoor First Aid Training Framework and the  Expedition Medical Competences framework outlined in the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Updated Guidance for medical provision for wilderness medicine.

Highly practical courses, delivered through classroom sessions, workshops and outdoor practical scenarios and simulations to ensure increased retention of learning, in a friendly and engaging way.

+ Catastrophic Bleeding Management (1/2- 1 Day)

Short Course in managing catastrophic bleeding. suitable for those operating in remote areas with machinery, risk of wounding or remote environments.

+ Environmental Specific First AId & Medical Courses (1 day)

A suite of short courses focused on specifc environments and common first aid considerations.
